Principal's All Call October 21, 2019
Posted on 10/20/2019

Good Evening Parents and Guardians,

This is Mrs. McIntosh calling with our weekly message at 6

We had a phenomenal Grandparent’s Day on Friday! Please thank them for coming and celebrating with us. PTO would also like to thank all the volunteers who worked the book fair this week, set up and cleaned up. We appreciate YOU!

This week we have several events.

On Thursday, Lifetouch will be taking make-up and retake pictures. There are forms in the office if you need one. Lifetouch asks you to return the first pictures if you are getting retakes. On Thursday evening, we will have our annual 3GG parent meeting. There are two sessions; 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Then beginning at 7:00 p.m., we will have the 1:World parent meeting. Any new student or student who did not attend the September meeting will need to attend in order to receive their Chromebook.

On Friday, we will be having our annual Harvest Parade. Ellet High School band will be coming and leading the parade.  Parents have been given the option of allowing students to leave for lunch and costume change. This must be done ahead of time. Our office will be super busy with lots of visitors, so please do not call on Friday afternoon. We must have parent signature for this event in order to release students at 12:00 (noon). In addition, students will not be penalized for leaving early on Friday the 25th for dress down passes to eat lunch and change into their costume. IMPORTANT REMINDER--- We have many students with food allergies. Just like birthday treats, Halloween treats must be store bought, individually wrapped with the label. NO homemade items may be given at the Halloween parties.

Here are other important announcements to remember:

  • 3rd grade students will be taking the ELA (English Language Arts) OST the week of October 28th through November 1st. This is a very important test. Please have your student here every day, on time, ready to test.
  • We have a home access center where you may check your child’s grades, attendance or test scores at any time. Let me know if you would like to set up.
  • Flu Vaccination with Health Heroes will be coming to Ritzman on Friday, November 8th. Be sure to have the form completed and turned in prior to the 8th if you would like for your child to receive the flu vaccination here at school.
  • Finally, we do have Red Oak counseling available here at Ritzman. They are accepting new clients. They can assist with any minor or major child or family concern. See me if you are interested.

The Most critical announcement!  Be sure to move through our parking lot slowly in the morning or afternoon. ALL drivers MUST stop when safety patrol has their flags out. You will know the flag is out when you see students holding them at windshield level with an outstretched arm. Thank you!
