Principal's All Call 1/11/21
Posted on 01/11/2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are in the 2nd week of January and at the end of marking period 3. Grades will close on Thursday, January 14th. Please check HAC (Home Access) to see if your child is missing any assignments and get them turned in. Teachers will have a few days to grade and enter final grades for marking period 2 in the following weeks. If you have any questions, contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

I-Ready importance! I-Ready is a practice and learning tool that has an individualized learning path. This path is based on your child’s answers on the diagnostic tests and their DAILY lessons. The I-Ready Reading and math lessons MUST be completed independently by your child. Each and every week, your child should be completing at least 45 minutes in both reading and math pathways. In addition, students’ passage score is important! They need to score at least 75% or higher.  Be sure to listen to morning announcements. We will be spotlighting students who are achieving the goals!

Here are a few other reminders….

  1. Attendance! Continue to call the main office if your child will not be attending their teacher’s Google Meet. Even though we are learning remotely, attendance is the same as when we are in school. Please call your child off when they are sick, there’s a family emergency, have a doctor’s appointment, etc.
  2. Online expectations. Students cameras should be on. Students should be dressed appropriately as in school. Food and drink should be consumed during breaks and lunch. Teachers will also be reaching out to parents where students have their cameras off during class.
  3. After Hours support restarts tomorrow.
  4. Chromebooks! Make sure your children are taking good care of their Chromebooks and reading daily from online books that can be found on their APS portal.

Finally, our local Akron Summit County Library has sent this information in regards to their winter programs.
