Posted on 03/02/2021

Dear Ritzman Family,

Kindergarten through 2nd grade will return to in-person on March 8th. 3rd through 5th grade students will return to in-person on March 15th. As we prepare for our return to the building, the protocols and routines will change in order to keep students and staff healthy from COVID while maintaining social distancing.

NEWS FLASH!!! On March 4th and March 5th, kindergarten through 2nd grade students will be given asynchronous work. On March 11th, 3rd through 5th grade students will be given asynchronous work.  March 12th is a professional development day for all staff, so there is No School for ALL students on the 12th.

What asynchronous mean?

During asynchronous learning days noted above, teachers will not be online directly during instruction time for your children. Teachers will assign learning activities and assignments on the days noted above in their Google Classroom.  The use of technology, like the Google Classroom, allows for learning to continue with our students. Students will be able to access the learning activities and assignments posted 24/7, when it is convenient to complete.

Do in-person students have to wear uniforms in K-8?

No, students will not be required to wear uniforms for the remainder of this year.  Our Board of Education waived the requirement to wear uniforms for the 2020-21 school year. It is important for students to wear appropriate clothing to school. Review the information in this document.  Reopening Dress Code-No Uniform, but…

What kind of masks are Students and Teachers allowed to wear?

All adults in the school will wear masks following Governor DeWine's current order. Masks must cover the mouth and nose at all times and be worn in a properly fitted manner.  Masks that cover the nose and mouth while properly fitting over the chin may consist of approved PPE masks. Gaiters and bandanas are not approved PPE masks.  Masks may have print on them, however, staff and students should have on school-appropriate masks.

What should my child bring back to in-person learning?

Here are a few items that students will need to bring to school; sharpened pencils, Chromebook and Charger, Backpack, Math book and other workbooks, Kleenex, but NO TOYS or other electronic devices may be brought to school

Finally,I know things are not perfect, but we will be Successful! I will continue to send updates as they come in.

Love Ya Much!
