Principal's All Call April 8, 2019
Posted on 04/08/2019

Good Evening Parents and Guardians,

This is Mrs. McIntosh calling with our weekly message at 6

Our teachers and students did an amazing job with the Reading OST. We still have a few more reading OST to complete this week. The following week, beginning on April 15th, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will be taking the Math OST.

Remember these talking tips to encourage your child to do well on the important OST tests.

  • If you are anxious about your child's test, it's ok but try to keep cool around your child, you don't want them to get anxious about their tests too.
  • Encourage your child to do well but don't pressure him/her. You may stress him/her out. It is important for your child to stay relaxed for the test.
  • Keep a positive attitude about tests.
  • Make sure that your child gets enough sleep on the night before the test.
  • Ensure that your child eats a healthy breakfast and avoid heavy foods that may make him/her groggy and avoid high sugar foods that may make him/her hyper.
  • Make sure that your child gets up early enough so that he/she will be on time to school.
  • Praise/reward your child and encourage them to do their best.

Thank you for having your children at school, on time and ready to perform!

Here are other important announcements to remember:

  • Awards Night is on Wednesday, April 10th, beginning at 5:30.
  • Kindergarten Registration Day is on Thursday, April 11th. Kindergarten registration will take place 2 times on Thursday, once at 9:00 a.m. and the other at 5:30 p.m. Please tell your neighbors, friends and family members if they have a child eligible for kindergarten in the fall. We would like for them to attend on Thursday.
  • Friday Night is PTO’s Family Game Night. There are lots of games, raffles and fun planned for the evening. We will see you then!
  • Other safety reminders: Students are not to arrive nor be dropped off at school prior to 7:50 a.m. There is no supervision until that time. Remember that ALL Students must exit the curb side in the morning and when pulling up to the curb, students should be ready to get out of the car. Do not block the driveway in the morning. Teachers and staff must be able to pull in and park. Thank you for assisting with this.
  • One last reminder for safety. When drivers are leaving Ritzman’s campus, they may only turn RIGHT onto Canton Road. Do Not Turn Left. In addition as drivers come down the hill towards Canton Rd., please drive slowly as students are walking on the sidewalk and in front of cars at the bottom of the driveway. Drivers must also stop 10 feet behind the bottom of the driveway and wait for the Crossing Guards' signal to move up and turn Right only.
