Principal's All Call May 28, 2020
Posted on 05/28/2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have 5 days of school left for this school year! Students’ last day of school is June 4th. It is extremely important that your child continues to participate and meet with their teachers as noted in their Google Classrooms. Attendance is taken and it is based on your child’s participation in the Google Meets and in assignments that are completed and turned in to their teachers.

Mr. Canavan along with Ritzman Staff have created a Virtual Field Day, YES! Field Day for students. Starting tomorrow, your child’s classroom teacher will post a link to Ritzman Virtual Field Day Website in their Google Classroom on the Stream link. Be sure to check for the announcement. There will be challenges to complete. Check it out to see what cool activities teachers are doing. You will have a chance to submit your videos using Flipgrid up until June 5thDon’t Miss Out!! See the attached flyer.

Here are some other updates and reminders:

Turning in Chromebook- If you will be continuing at Ritzman or another APS school, please keep your Chromebook over the summer and take care in cleaning it.  When cleaning the Chromebook, be sure to turn off and unplug. Clean the screen with a soft, dry antistatic or microfiber cloth. Do NOT use window cleaner or any type of liquid on the Chromebook. Packaged pre-moistened eyeglass lens cleaning tissue may be use to clean the screen. The eyeglass tissue should be damp and not wet to the touch. Disinfectant wipes and sprays should not contain bleach. Apply only soft pressure when disinfecting the area around the keyboard. Too much pressure could damage the keys.

Only students who are moving and NOT attending Akron Public Schools next year will need to return their Chromebook either to Ritzman or Ellet High School during the designated 9:30-11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday times.

I just wanted to tell you how amazing home support has been for our staff and students during this unusual time of online learning. We love you and appreciate you, parents and guardians!
Continue to call or email your child's teacher or myself ([email protected]) about anything during this online learning.
