Principal's All Call November 25, 2019
Posted on 11/26/2019

Good Evening Parents and Guardians,

This is Mrs. McIntosh calling with our weekly message at 6.

This week will be our shortest week at school. We are only attending on Monday, the 25th and Tuesday, the 26th. Students may pay $2 (total) to dress down both days as a PTO fundraiser. They are to pay their money to PTO as they arrive in the cafeteria. PTO members will be there to collect. Students should NOT give dress down money to teachers.

On Tuesday the 26th, we will have our monthly perfect attendance breakfast at 8:00 a.m. sharp in the cafeteria. We hope to see parents there supporting their student’s wonderful achievement.

There will be no school for students on the 27th of November. Thanksgiving break will be on the 28th and 29th of November.

Here are events later this month:

Beginning in December, students will begin the mid-year diagnostic testing. This will give us information to see how they are progressing and learning.

Interim Reports will be sent home with students on Tuesday December 3rd.

Interim Parent Teacher Conferences are on Thursday, December 5th from 3:00 until 6:30 p.m.

Santa Shop is also the first week in December and will take place on the 5th and 6th. Teachers have already signed up for a time to take their students to shop on one of those days. PTO will be sending home a volunteer form. Please return as soon as possible. They NEED lots of Volunteers on both days. The young students will need assistance in shopping and we need volunteers to wrap or package the gifts students purchase.

The next PTO event is Movie Night. It will take place on Friday, the 13th from 6:00 until 8:00p.m. Toy Story 4 will be shown along with hot dogs, popcorn and other fun movie treats.

Finally, I have the most exciting news! We have a school counselor that has been hired by Akron Board of Education. Her name is Katie Myers. Many of your children have already met her. She is a wonderful addition to Ritzman. Mrs. Myers is available on every other Tuesday, every Wednesday and every Friday at Ritzman. If you have any concerns or questions about your child, she is here to help. Just call our main office and Mrs. Price will connect you. Do note, that Red Oak Counseling also remains at our building. Mr. Mc and Ms. Katey will continue to take clients and work on extended counseling sessions with you and your families.

Both are here to support students and help them develop positive strategies for many things they can use throughout life. We also ask you, parents, to help students with their relationship building skills. Remind them that bullying is not okay and that we should always treat each other with kindness and respect. We want our students to have a voice by standing up with their friends if they are being bullied and to always tell an adult. Thank you for helping us promote a safe and positive learning environment here at Ritzman.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. If you have any questions about these weekly all calls, please call 330-761-7903 or email me at [email protected]
