Good Evening Ritzman Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying the Superbowl tonight.

Parents, there is a HUGE concern that I need your assistance with at dismissal. The staff on duty and I are witnessing very dangerous situations for our students. On Friday I went to the Stetler Road sidewalk at dismissal. I saw lots of dangerous acts from children and adults. Students MUST cross in the crosswalk in order to go to the other  side of Stetler and to go to the small lot on the corner of Albrecht & Stetler. There are crossing guards at the entrance of our parking lot and at the corner to safely cross students. In addition, students should NOT load into a vehicle in the middle of the street. Please park in one of our parking lots. Thank you.

On Friday, several flyers went home with students. Here are links to the flyers.

PTO February Events  and Explanations about Ritzman Special Events Fundraisers. Please support our PTO's fundraisers.

Just a reminder about Valentine's parties. On Monday the 14th, grades KG, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th will have their celebrations. 5th graders will celebrate on Tuesday, the 15th.

Teachers have planned their class’ Valentine’s celebrations. There are important precautions for us to follow in order to be safe and healthy.

  • Do not send or bring food or drink to school to be consumed for the  Valentine’s Parties. We are still not allowed to eat in classrooms.

  • Please follow your child’s teachers’ directions on how students will share individually wrapped candy, Valentines or non-edible treats with classmates.

Just a reminder, there is no school on Friday the 18 and no school on Monday the 21st.

This is the Lifetouch Yearbook ordering information if you would like to order one. Lifetouch will be creating Ritzman’s yearbook. The deadline for ordering is March 9th.

Here are a few other reminders:

#1 If your child is sick or going to be absent, please call the main office and leave a message for the secretary, Sheri.

#2 Check your child’s I-Ready minutes and lesson passage rate each week. They are expected to complete 45 minutes in reading and 45 minutes in math.

#3 The APS After-Hours Support is still available to help you or your child. This is like having a one on one tutor. You or your child can access After-Hours support by using the After-Hours portal tile, Calling  330-761-7943 or Joining this Google Meet

#4 PBIS- As we have shared behavior expectations for our students at Ritzman’s PBIS website. In addition, Mrs. Rogers shares PBIS videos with the students in Kindergarten, First and Second grade. Here is the website address  Ask your children about Howard B. Wigglebottom. He teaches students how to listen more, learn more and get into less trouble.

Finally, above all, Be Kind and Patient with each other. We never know what each person is going through. 💗

 Love Ya,

Mrs. M
