Principal's All Call September 16, 2019
Posted on 09/15/2019

Good Evening Parents and Guardians,

This is Mrs. McIntosh calling with our weekly message at 6

I want to begin by applauding kindergarten parents. Your children are ready for school by being independent in coming into the school and going to their classroom. Thank you. I also want to thank all of the parents and guardians who came to the Chromebook parent meeting. We are planning on offering another meeting in October if you were not able to attend.

Here are some events for this week:

On Monday, we will begin MAP testing in grades kindergarten, first, second and third. This is a district required test for students to take to demonstrate their skills in reading and math via an app on their Chromebooks. It is important for your children to do their best. For specific information, communicate to your child’s teacher.

On Thursday, we will be having our annual Father’s Fame Walk. Fathers or any significant adult in our students’ lives are encouraged to walk them to school. The adult may come in the cafeteria and walk them to class prior to announcements at 8:25. By 8:30, we will begin our teaching and learning.

On Friday, Lifetouch will be here taking fall pictures. Students are permitted to wear a special picture day outfit if they are paying for pictures. Parents may either pay online or send in the money with their child. Extra order forms are in the office. Remember shoulders must be covered and no inappropriate writing and/or pictures on shirts.

Here are other important announcements to remember:

If you borrowed a Chromebook for the summer, all the parts and the Chromebook should be returned to school. If not returned, there will be a fee added to your child’s account to cover the cost to replace.

Parent, please review positive behavior expectations for school. The biggest concerns are keeping hands & feet to self and leaving mulch, stick and rocks on the ground during recess. This will help us keep everyone safe and healthy.

As a reminder, cars are not to block the entrance to the side parking lot in the morning. Stop prior to the cross walk by the yellow poles to allow staff to enter the parking lot.

Continue to make arrangements with your child’s classroom teacher to bring in a birthday treat or an alternative celebration idea.
