Principal's All Call December 2

Principal's All Call December
Posted on 12/02/2019

Good Evening Parents and Guardians,

This is Mrs. McIntosh calling with our weekly message at 6.

I hope everyone enjoyed some time with family and friends during this past Thanksgiving weekend. The month of December has arrived and there are only 3 weeks of school, but busy weeks. Teachers will be assisting students in taking the mid-year I-Ready diagnostic testing. This will give us information to see how your child is progressing and learning.

For this week, Interim Reports will be sent home with students on Tuesday, December 3rd. Interim Parent Teacher Conferences are on Thursday, December 5th from 3:00 until 6:30 p.m. Santa Shop will take place on the 5th and 6th this week. Teachers have already signed up for a time to take their students to shop on one of those days. Don’t forget there is a new added feature where parents may pay on line with a credit card and send their student with a shopping voucher instead of cash. Look for the flyer. It was sent home on November 26 or will be on December 2nd.  There are extra copies on the counter in the office.  PTO will be sending home a volunteer form. Please return as soon as possible. They NEED lots of Volunteers on both days. The young students will need assistance in shopping and we need volunteers to wrap or package the gifts students purchase. Volunteers should sign-in, in the office and go directly to the Santa Shop when arriving at school.

Here are events later this month:

Another PTO event is Movie Night. It will take place on Friday, the 13th from 6:00 until 8:00p.m. Toy Story 4 will be shown along with hot dogs, popcorn and other fun movie treats.

On Wednesday, December 18th, our annual Winter/Holiday Music Program will take place from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Heinl, our music teacher will be sending home more information about this 3rd, 4th and 5th grade performance. Our primary students will perform at the Spring Music Show.

Finally, don’t forget to reach out to our new school counselor, Katie Myers if you need her assistance.  Red Oak Counseling also remains at our building. Mr. Mc and Ms. Katey will continue to take clients and work on extended counseling sessions with you and your families. Both are here to support students and help them develop positive strategies for many things they can use throughout life. We need parents to also help their child build positive relationships with other students and adults. Remind your child that bullying is not okay and that we should always treat each other with kindness and respect. We want our students to have a voice by standing up with their friends if they are being bullied and to always tell an adult. Thank you for helping us promote a safe and positive learning environment here at Ritzman.
