Principal's All Call December 9, 2019
Posted on 12/11/2019

Good Evening Parents and Guardians,

This is Mrs. McIntosh calling with our weekly message at 6.

Ritzman Students and Staff would like to give a HUGE shout out to Ritzman’s PTO and parent volunteers for an amazing Santa Shop. We know if took a lot of time and energy, but students were so excited about their wonderful gifts they purchased! THANK YOU!

This week, students will continue to take the mid-year I-Ready diagnostic testing in both reading and math. There is also a district Quarterly 2 assessment in reading and math this week and next week. This will give us information to see how your child is progressing and learning this school year.

For this week, Lifetouch will be here to take candid shot and group yearbook shots on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Students and parents do not need to prepare in anyway. Just be sure your child is here at school on time.

On Friday after school, PTO will be having a treat sale. PTO  Movie Night is also this Friday, the 13th from 6:00 until 8:00p.m. Toy Story 4 will be shown along with hot dogs, popcorn and other fun movie treats. The RSVP form for movie night is due by Wednesday the 11th. We need an accurate count for purchases.

Just a reminder, we will be going out for recess daily. Make sure your child wears a winter coat, hat and gloves in order to keep warm and healthy. Students will not go out if the temperature is below 20 degrees or if it is raining.

Here are events later this month:

On Wednesday, December 18th, our annual Winter/Holiday Music Program will take place from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Heinl, our music teacher will be sending home more information about this 3rd, 4th and 5th grade performance. Our primary students will perform at the Spring Music Show.

We need parents to also help their child build positive relationships with other students and adults. Remind your child that bullying is not okay and that we should always treat each others with kindness and respect. Our school counselor, teachers and administration are organizing and planning a parent/student night to address bullying versus conflict. Watch for more information after Christmas break.

Finally, PTO wanted to send a reminder about their Kalahari fundraiser. Flyers will not be going home but info is on the Ritzman PTO Facebook page and on this link. https://book.passkey.com/e/49971692
